Intimate Home Photo Session (+ sneak peek of our home)
They say your home is where your heart is... And being a new homeowner, I've found that statement is truer that ever.
We've been in our house for 6 months now and I still pinch myself that this place is ours. I've lived in apartments pretty much my whole life so this is definitely a huge change for me. I absolutely love how open the floor plan is and the natural light we get is just incredible. Each time we return from a trip, it's seriously the best feeling coming back to our cozy home (+ Rylie of course.)
Now, it's not all rainbows and sunshine - owning a home also comes with many new responsibilities. The first week we moved in, the water heater broke so we didn't have hot water for the first 3 days. We went back and forth with the insurance company but they were not helpful at all so we essentially had to buy a new water heater. That was one of the many things we had to buy/fix/install ourselves because there is no one else who can do that. Even still, the perks most definitely outweigh the chores and we cannot be happier with our first home.
We are currently in the beginning stages of doing a BIG remodel in our home but before we start tearing out the walls, I wanted to do a photo session to commemorate the original specs of our home. I had also been wanting to a shoot for our one year anniversary so I was so excited when my friend Michelle approached me about doing an intimate home shoot! This photoshoot is definitely different than what ones I've done in the past. It's moodier, more intimate and tells a story about our marriage and our home. Michelle did a fantastic job at capturing us at our true selves and I couldn't be happier with this shoot. This post is jam packed with photos because I just couldn't narrow it down, hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
