P + D: Our Engagement Shoot

We recently received our engagement photos and I'm super excited to share with you! We were able to create this styled shoot with the help of some talented friendors (friend-vendors) and I am beyond happy with the way my amazing photographer, Sunny captured it all. When I was originally brainstorming for the concept, I wasn't sure exactly what the theme would be but after talking to each vendor, they shared their expertise in the industry and gave me some great ideas. Just like our proposal, I loved that our community came together and their contribution made this shoot that much more special and beautiful!

We had an adventure-themed proposal (read about it here) so I wanted to run with that concept + add some style details that felt true to us. For my first outfit, I wore this gorgeous yellow dress from Diivinity. I had initially saw this lacey number months ago at Magic in Las Vegas and instantly fell in love with it. I remember texting Monica of Diivinity right away and months later, she pulled some strings together to get this dress for me! I love everything from the color, fabric and fit of the dress and the simple olive branch bouquet pulls the whole look together. Patrick wore a simple white button down with polka dots & brown shoes for a neutral look.

Beauty expert Kelly Tran create my loose low bun and Caroline of Pursue Love Design Co. added foraged greeneries to add some whimsical details. A couple minutes into the shoot, we discovered some of the leaves in my hair were poison ivy! Thankfully, we went and washed our hands right after and none of us had any allergic reactions (PTL!) This was definitely a memorable moment of the shoot that we can laugh about afterwards.

For the second outfit, I wanted to wear something a little bit more bohemian and free-spirited so Diivinity provided this floor length floral dress that was super fun and comfortable. I love how feminine the silhouette was and the wrap detail around the waist was very flattering. Cerritos Florist put together this beautiful bouquet & sweet floral crown that tied this whole look together.

Wooden Sign by Happily Ever Etched

One of my favorite keepsake and details from this shoot is this wooden sign from Happily Ever Etched. I submitted my hand lettered design a few weeks before the shoot and she turned it into this beautiful gold etched sign! It's now hanging in my room and I can't wait to add it as a permanent decor piece in our future home!

For the final touch, I created these gold calligraphy escort cards on deckled edged paper. I love the way they look with the foraged greens, styled by Elisha of Pursue Love Design Co, for an organic finish. I also created made a replica of the letter Patrick wrote me on our proposal day. I tried to replicate the rose gold of the ring in the calligraphy and am pretty pleased at the result :)

Thank you to all the contributing vendors, Patrick & I are forever grateful!
